SIWARD GROUP
Trading Phases

Markets move in phases.
We learn to read them.

Siward Group is a proprietary trading initiative based in New Hampshire. We apply the methodologies of Richard Wyckoff to commodity futures markets, supported by an internal framework that adapts the formalism of quantum field theory to market microstructure.

A century-old framework for reading the composite hand of the market.

Richard Wyckoff observed in the 1920s that markets do not move randomly — they move through repeatable structural phases shaped by the accumulation and distribution behavior of large operators. Siward Group's research builds on that observation, applying modern quantitative tools to identify phase boundaries and the moments at which they break.

01 / IV
Accumulation
Quiet absorption at low prices. Volatility compresses. Tests of support are met with strength. The composite hand is buying what the public sells.
02 / IV
Markup
Supply has been absorbed. Price rises in a sequence of higher highs and higher lows. Pullbacks become opportunities. The trend is established.
03 / IV
Distribution
The market makes new highs but conviction fades. Large operators offload inventory into public demand. The structure inverts. Reversal becomes increasingly likely.
04 / IV
Markdown
Demand has been satisfied. Price falls in a sequence of lower highs and lower lows. The cycle prepares to begin again. Patience pays.

Wyckoff read, mathematically.

Our internal trading system represents markets as fields and derives signals from operators acting on those fields. The mathematics is contemporary; the questions it answers are the same ones Wyckoff was asking a century ago. Built and maintained in house.
